This action-packed, one-day program is designed to demystify the job recruitment process. We'll be diving deep into the essentials, covering every critical step: from navigating job opportunities to mastering selection criteria, crafting captivating cover letter and resumes and nailing those interviews!

You'll also get to hear from industry experts who are eager to share their experiences and top tips.

Update and polish your existing resume
Sharpen your interview skills, so you can confidently tackle questions that come your way

To ensure the best experience for everyone please arrive at 8:30am for a 9:00am firm start. This will give you time to prepare and connect with fellow peers before the session starts. If you find yourself running behind schedule, please get in touch with us at careers@uq.edu.au
Remember to bring your laptop, laptop charger AND a current resume, either digital or printed.
Prepare for a full day of activities and connecting with others.
Morning tea and a light lunch will be provided, please note that dietary requests must be submitted by 15 June via careers@uq.edu.au

Your résumé (either paper or electronic version).
A place to capture the advice (e.g., a notepad or your laptop).

Important notes

Please ensure you arrive on time, as the event will be sharply concluding at 10:45am due to other events in the space. We will not accept arrivals after 10:35am.
Spaces are limited, so please be sure to register to secure your spot! If you register and are no longer able to attend, please cancel your booking so others may register.

The recruitment essentials day is here to give you the skills you need to get started in applying for jobs!

This one-day intensive program will give you everything you need to get started applying for jobs. The day will be covering many common steps of the process including job searching, resumes, cover letters, selection criteria, and interviews.

Get tips to polish your resume and cover letters, learn job searching strategies, and get advice on how to ace your job interviews. You’ll get the inside scoop as our panel of recruitment professionals and UQ alumni will give you their insider tips on how to stand out in the recruitment process.

Tailor Your Application seeks to equip you with the skills required to develop and enhance your professional application.

By customing your professional application, you are able to articulate your unique value proposition to prospective employers.

Read through the information and conditions, and submit your tailored application!

What does it involve?

Find a job that you would like to apply for (or that you are interested in) and download the job description/selection criteria (PDF or document).
Write a tailored application for the role (this may include a resume, cover letter and/or selection criteria).
Select one document that you would like to be prioritised in the review.
Complete the form and upload all documents, including the job description/selection criteria.
A member of the team will review your application and provide you with a personalised video with top tips for enhancing your application.

Conditions
