Sciences Po Summer School: July Session

The provides the opportunity to spend a month in the “City of Light” is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the Summer School. Throughout their stay, Summer School students have the opportunity to get acquainted with Paris’ legendary neighbourhoods like Montmartre, the Latin Quarter, or the Marais…as well as to discover many others they may never have heard of before: Buttes-Chaumont, Butte aux Cailles, Sentier, and the canals of the northern arrondissements.

In the summer, Paris plays host to some of Europe’s top events such as Paris Plage, Rock en Seine and the finish line of Le Tour de France.With an excellent transportation system, any destination in Paris is a mere bus or metro ride away. Students in the social sciences track selectonecore course of intensive study from Sciences Po’s fundamental disciplines, such as international relations, political science, economics, history, and more. Classes are led by Sciences Po professors and taught in English.

Course Profiles:Sciences Po does not provide course profiles before the short-term session commences. Therefore, you will be required to use UQ general electives(and not plan to take disciplines related to your UQ program)if you wish to study at Sciences Po, due to the course profile access restrictions.

Credit equivalent

6 ECTS = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 2 UQ Units upon successful completion of 6 ECTS (one core course from the French language or social sciences track) (pending UQ faculty approval).

If you intend to undertake your experience for-credit, it is strongly recommended that you submit your application to the Global Experiences team at least 4 weeks before applying to the host to allow sufficient time for faculty to complete the credit assessment. Please note that it is your responsibility to meet the host application deadline.

Application Deadlines

OS-HELP loan applications open on 5 January each year.

OS-HELP loan applications can’t be accepted:

  • any earlier than 6 monthsbefore the official start date of your overseas study
  • any later than3 monthsbefore the official end date of your overseas study.
