Waseda University Short-Term Japanese Program: Summer course
The 听offers 3-week language courses targeted at beginner and intermediate levels.听The program welcomes students with a high motivation to learn, and an interest in the Japanese language and culture.
The Short-term Japanese Program is organized and run by the centre for Japanese Language Waseda University. The goal of this 3-week program is to cultivate students鈥� overall Japanese language ability. Through the classes provided at different levels, students can study the Japanese language according to their own abilities.

Credit Equivalent听
2 Waseda Credits听= 2 UQ听Units. Maximum of 2 UQ听Units if 2 Waseda Credits are successfully completed (pending UQ faculty approval).

Eligibility and Application
All applicants must meet the听UQ short-term experience eligibility criteria听and the听.
The program is aimed at students听who can at least read and write Hiragana/Katakana. Waseda advises that students听self-study with Waseda's 听before starting the program.
Students are required to complete a 听prior to the application period. Students must enter the scores when processing their application to Waseda University.听
If you are intending to undertake your experience for-credit, it is strongly recommended that you submit your application to the Global Experiences Team at least 4 weeks before applying to the host to allow sufficient time for Faculty to complete the credit assessment. Please note however that it is your responsibility to meet the host application deadline.听
Cost
The tuition fee is approximately $1,100 AUD, and a screening fee of $240 AUD will also apply. More information regarding fees can be found on the .

Funding
Global Experiences Grants
When you submit your application for an听experience, you are automatically considered for funding that is relevant to your nominated experience. Please refer to the鈥�Short-Term Experiences Funding鈥痯age for details.听
OS-HELP Loan
You may also be eligible to submit an application for an听听if your program is for-credit and you are enrolled as a Commonwealth-supported student.

Application Deadlines
OS-HELP loan applications open on 5 January each year.
OS-HELP loan applications can鈥檛 be accepted:
- any earlier than 6 months听before the official start date of your overseas study
- any later than听3 months听before the official end date of your overseas study.
