KU Leuven: Europe Inside Out
Founded in 1425, is the oldest university in Belgium, as well as being the oldest surviving Catholic university anywhere in the world.Ìý It’s also Belgium’s largest higher education institution and is considered to be one of the most prestigious research universities in Europe.Ìý
With its exciting range of options and its setting in one of Europe’s greatest cities, KU Leuven’s EU summer course truly stands out from the crowd. During this short-term programme jointly offered by the Faculties ofÌýEconomics & Business,ÌýArtsÌýandÌýSocial Sciences,Ìýyou have the option to study for 2 or 3 weeks. The course will include lectures on Doing Business with Europe, Policies & Politics in the EU, Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Europe, and Social & Cultural Interactions. Participants will also visit Brussels, Antwerp, and Paris.

Credit equivalentÌý
6-8 ECTS = 2 UQ Units. Maximum of 2 UQ Units upon successful completion of 6-8 ECTS (pending UQ faculty approval).

Eligibility and application
All applicants must meet the UQ short-term experience eligibility criteria and theÌý.
If you are intending to undertake your experience for-credit, it is strongly recommended that you submit your application to the Global Experience teamÌýat least 4 weeks before applying to the host to allow sufficient time for Faculty to complete the credit assessment. Please note, however, that it is your responsibility to meet the host application deadline. Ìý
Cost
The participation mode of this experience isÌýStudy Abroad, meaning you pay tuitionÌýdirectly to the host.ÌýThe cost for this program is approximately $1,072 AUD for the 2-week program and approximately $1,335 AUD for the 3-week program and covers tuition, some lunches and day trips to Antwerp, Paris and Brussels. Accommodation
Accommodation is not included in the program fee. Participants can register for on-campus accommodation at the , and can pre-book single, twin and duplex rooms with their own bathrooms.ÌýÌýFor more information regarding accommodation, please see theÌý.Ìý

OS-HELP loan applications open on 5 January each year.
OS-HELP loan applications can’t be accepted:
- any earlier than 6 monthsÌýbefore the official start date of your overseas study
- any later thanÌý3 monthsÌýbefore the official end date of your overseas study.
